On the 24th of July 2024, the students of the B.Ed 4th semester from Pragati College of Education embarked on a one-day field visit to Chahal Inclusive Preparatory. The visit aimed to facilitate the students’ understanding of Inclusive Education, a vital component of their curriculum.
The primary objective of the visit was to provide the B.Ed students with firsthand experience of inclusive education practices. The visit allowed them to observe and interact with children and faculty at Chahal Inclusive Preparatory, thereby gaining practical insights into the strategies and methodologies employed in an inclusive educational setting.
Activities Undertaken:
The students were divided into groups based on their roll numbers (1-25) to ensure effective interaction and engagement. The visit included various activities designed to enhance their learning experience:
– Profiling School Children: The students created profiles of the children at Chahal Inclusive Preparatory, documenting their observations and interactions.
– Interactive Sessions: The students had the opportunity to interact with the school children and faculty members, participating in numerous fun activities such as handprint art, coloring, and dancing.
– Engagement with the Principal: The highlight of the visit was an interactive session with the Principal, Mrs. Lazen Khando Yolmo. She enlightened the students about the different methods, strategies, and approaches incorporated in the day-to-day working of the school. This session provided valuable insights into the practical aspects of inclusive education.
– Faculty Interaction: All the teachers at Chahal Inclusive Preparatory actively engaged with the visiting students, sharing their experiences and insights about working in an inclusive environment. These interactions were enriching and provided a deeper understanding of the challenges and rewards of inclusive education.
The one-day field visit to Chahal Inclusive Preparatory was a valuable educational experience for the B.Ed 4th semester students of Pragati College of Education.
